Boca Chica : Los Haitises Caminata Guiada y Kayak
Travel from Boca Chica to Sabana de la mar. This Hiking Trail + Kayaking Tour start from Caño Hondo/Sabana de La Mar port. We will hike around 3 hours along the Humid Forest in the Los Haitises National Park. You will learn about the medicinal plants of this area, see the broadleaf rain forest primary and secondary Los Haitises National Park mountains and at the same time reach the spring of the Jivales River from which the waters of the natural pools of Eco-lodge Caño Hondo. (We have also an option of only hiking in the Rain forest for Trekking lovers)
Luego tomamos el equipo necesario para su seguridad (chalecos salvavidas, etc.), kayaks y navegamos a través de manglares. Verá manglares llenos de aves, colinas de exuberante vegetación. A través de los manglares llegaremos a la Bahía de San Lorenzo abierta, desde donde podrá fotografiar el escarpado paisaje forestal. El nombre del parque nacional proviene de sus habitantes originales, los indios taínos. En su idioma, “Haitises” se traduce como tierras altas o colinas, una referencia a las empinadas formaciones geológicas de piedra caliza de la costa. El kayak dura 2 horas.
